You can meet like-minded people through our network, or you can find a sparring partner for, for example, an organizational issue.

We are an appealing club with valuable meetings. Our objectives are: conviviality, development and cooperation. According to CNA, one cannot exist without the other. Go and experience it for yourself! Simply register as a member or write to us.

Young Talent

We are looking for young, promising students in the field of communication, marketing and PR, to strengthen our association. You are eager to learn, full of ideas about what the future of communication should look like and you have both feet in science and the latest insights. As a new generation of communication professionals, you have grown up with new media and you are therefore very important to manage the transition that is going on in the country of communication. You may not realize it yet, but the knowledge and skills you have are extremely interesting and indispensable for the growth of our association!

who we are

What we offer

We are a network of Amsterdam Communication Professionals. Every month, we organize inspiring and educational meetings, and networking drinks. In this way, as a communication professional in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, you can develop your knowledge and network. We are open to anyone who is professionally involved in communication.

For whom?

Our association has an interesting and diverse database, such as communication agencies, communication consultants, designers, journalists, photographers, illustrators, press officers, web designers, coaches and marketers. Communication students in the city or metropolitan region are also very welcome. Our ambition is to strengthen: Craftsmanship, Innovation, Knowledge & Network.

What we do?

We organize events that benefit a communication professional. Examples include a lecture on the rebranding of Amsterdam, a Master Class in communication technology, an infographic tutorial at the Financieele Dagblad. We also offer our expertise annually (pro bono) to a social enterprise with a communication issue. For this, we form ‘Think Tanks’. Last year, this was Museum ‘t Schip. We conclude each meeting with a pleasant networking drink.

Networking

The members of CNA are experienced, passionate entrepreneurs and professionals who are working in countless fields and for various companies. These are the people with whom you can spar with, professionally, and exchange knowledge. Once a month, we meet at inviting locations during a pleasant networking drink. Informal and inspiring at the same time. Our monthly meetings are also varied in terms of content, tailored to the current affairs of our industry. It can be a new national trend, but also an important development in the city or region. The set-up is also constantly changing. Sometimes it is about the introduction of an expert, at other times it is a workshop. Or you are a guest at a special location, other times we visit an inspiring company or organization.

Communicatie Netwerk.Amsterdam has a board with members who participate in their spare time in setting up (networking) activities, meetings, information and knowledge transfer and of course managing the association itself.

History

55 Years
Young

Amsterdam Information Officers founded the Information Society Amsterdam (VSA), on March 31, 1966. This group consisted not only of information officers from the Municipality of Amsterdam, but also of large and small Amsterdam organizations. Founder Floris Pleyte d’Ailly became the first chairman of the board. From the outset, the VSA regularly organized meetings and drinks. Odeon was the regular meeting place for years.

Transformation

Over the years, the information profession has been transformed into communication in a broader sense. In 2011, the name was changed to ‘Welcom Amsterdam’. The profession has since grown into communication professionals of various backgrounds, such as journalism, PR, audiovisual and creative communication. In 2016, the fourth ‘Welcom Amsterdam’ committee celebrated the association’s 50th birthday at Museum Ship.

The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area

Our home base remains the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area: our members live and / or work in this area. Our meetings take place at inspiring locations; such as Het Parool, Financieel Dagblad, Noord Zuidlijn, Van Gogh Museum, Waternet, OBA and Dutch National Opera and Ballet.

Win this Prize

The Amsterdam Communication Prize is awarded for the best communication campaign and / or strategy of the past year. Let us know who should win! All communication professionals who live or work in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area can participate.

What is the prize?

The aim of the Amsterdam Communication Prize is to inspire each other and to put craftsmanship in the spotlight. That is why the winners are given the podium at the award ceremony to present their project. As the winner, they receive a certificate or an honorable mention. The second and third prize winners also go home with a certificate.

Who is on the jury?

The jury is carefully curated and consists of four seasoned, handpicked communication professionals who are exemplary at their work.

Who can participate?

You can register as a freelancer or employed communications professional. Submission is open to all specialists: from communication specialist, and graphic designer to copywriter and so on we work in the region Metropole Amsterdam.

These general terms and conditions of Communication Network Amsterdam (CNA) are part of the membership. In addition to the description of the General Terms and Conditions, we also take into account the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We process personal data such as names, addresses and telephone numbers carefully.

Membership
CNA membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who lives or is professionally involved in communication in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Membership is strictly personal and cannot be transferred, even temporarily, to anyone else. You can join at any time during the year. If you become a member in the first six months of the year, you pay € 100 until the end of the year. If you become a member after July 1, you pay € 50 until the end of the year. When you register in December, your membership starts at the start of the next calendar year.

Direct Debit (Automatische incasso)
By default, the annual contribution is collected by direct debit. This is approved when registering membership. The annual collection is made in February. If you do not want a direct debit, this can be reported to the secretariat and you will receive an invoice and you will ensure timely payment. The membership is then € 125, –

Failed Collection or Late Payment
Each member (existing as well as prospective) receives a notification indicating the payment obligation. If the collection cannot be carried out successfully or if the contribution is not paid independently within three months after the start of the payment obligation, a payment reminder will follow by e-mail. If the payment has not yet been made four months after the commencement date of the payment obligation, a collection agency will be engaged. The costs involved will also be charged. The same periods are used for members who join the CNA later than January 1 and for meetings with a monetary contribution.

Termination of membership
Cancellations must be received in writing (by post or e-mail) before December 1 of the current membership year at the secretariat. Without cancellation before this date, the membership is automatically extended by one year. You are responsible for canceling your membership and for any change of mail, bank account, contact and / or postal address.

The articles of association can be requested from the board.
